THE HALF MOON MARKET
A weekend long marketplace event in Albany's historic Washington Park Lake House.
The market is named for the Half Moon, the ship sailed by Henry Hudson in 1609. The Half Moon sailed up the river as far as the present day location of Albany, New York. A replica of the ship was docked in the Port of Albany until 2014, when it was relocated to the Netherlands.
The Half Moon Market is independently organized with support from the City of Albany and The Washington Park Neighborhood Association, as well as several community sponsors. We are proud to feature as many as 40 regional makers, artists and small companies offering handmade jewelry, ceramics, stationery, clothing, apothecary and more, as well as a few local food & drink vendors.

The Half Moon Market is organized by Adelia Sugarman and Caroline Corrigan, two self-employed creative entrepreneurs living in Albany New York. Adelia is the owner and maker behind Owlkill Studio, a line of handmade jewelry and leather goods. Caroline is a freelance graphic designer specializing in logo design and branding for small businesses.
We pride ourselves on filling our markets with makers who create well designed, high quality handmade products. We aim to provide a profitable opportunity for serious working artists, designers and craftspeople who are pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a contemporary maker. Our vendors represent a wide range of processes and approaches, from traditional craft to experimental & modern techniques.
Our mission is to bring the community together to support working artists and small businesses, and to create an event that will both inspire increased use of the Lake House and highlight other beautiful, underutilized historic spaces throughout the city of Albany.
